Hillel Schwartz 'Making Noise: From Babel to the Big Bang and Beyond'

Hillel Schwartz's excellent, but massive 'Making Noise: From Babel to the Big Bang and Beyond' arrived this morning. Looks very useful, there is more than one chapter about silence. Sirens, loudspeakers, urban sonics, Echo and Narcissus are all explored.

    Hi, I was very happy to find this blog today. I am an ex student, I graduated from Goldsmiths in 2005 and studied Visual Cultures before it became Aural and Visual. I followed Auditions seminar, beautifully thaught by Kodwo Eshun and wrote all my essays and dissertation on cinema.
